For my birthday I asked for, and received, a scanner. I have boxes full of old family photos to share. My plan is to spend the upcoming winter getting all sloppy with nostalgia. The fact that I don't really know what I'm doing with the scanner is not an issue for me, I'm just going to pretend I do. And also take all the lessons that HP offers as support when you buy their products.
I started with "Scanning Basics", it seemed like the right thing to do. I chose a favorite photo from one of the Reuschle/Kerekes family vacations at Davis Park on Fire Island. When we arrived that year, Amy and Joanie rushed into their little room to unpack and see what new toys and books and clothes they had each brought. They were thrilled to open their suitcases and right there on top of each were matching outfits their thoughtful, fabulous, beautiful Moms had bought for each of them. We, I mean the fabulous beautiful Moms, had no idea that they were making identical purchases when they bought them. So, I love this photo.

So that was at 11 this morning, it's now 1:04. I'm hopeful that It won't always take me two hours to scan, edit and save one photo....
